Work experience, in Thai we say....
ประสบการณ์ทำงาน / bprà-sòp gaan tam ngaan
อายุงาน / aa-yú ngaan
If you have years of work experience in doing something, you can put มี/ mee in front of the words mentioned above.
Ex.
🔸I have 10 years' experience of teaching. มีประสบการณ์สอน 10 ปี = mee bprà-sòp gaan sŏn 10 bpee
🔸I have one year’s experience. มีอายุงาน 1 ปี = mee aa-yú ngaan 1 bpee
🔸I have 5 years’ experience. มีประสบการณ์ทำงาน 5 ปี = mee bprà-sòp gaan tam ngaan 5 bpee
Generally, you can use one of those to tell people your work experience, but sometimes, with some expressions, we like to use อายุงาน / aa-yú ngaan to talk about work experience, such as...
🔹ถ้าอายุงานน้อยก็ยากที่จะได้เงินเดือนเยอะ tâa aa-yú ngaan nói · gôr yâak têe jà dâai ngern deuuan yúh = If you have little work experience, then it will be hard to get a lot of salary.
You might think that you can also use ประสบการณ์น้อย/ bprà-sòp gaan nói, as well, right? Of course! Yes! You can. But for some reasons, I just feel that I have heard the🔹one more often than another one.
🔹คนที่มีอายุงาน 10 ปีขึ้นไป จะได้วันพักร้อน 30 วันต่อปี
kon têe mee aa-yú ngaan 10 bpee kêun bpai · jà dâai wan pák rón 30 wan dtòr bpee
= Anyone who has 10 years of work or more, will get 30 days of vacation leave per year.
อายุงาน/ aa-yú ngaan, in this second case, refers to years of work rather than experience in work, that's why we don't use ประสบการณ์/ bprà-sòp gaan
